Trover to the Rescue
Winter 2010/11
This winter has been particularly hard. Trover received an SOS from Thames Reach London who help homeless people in London. Some of those living on the streets have a dog as their only loyal friend and Thames Reach was desperate to find some comfort and protection for these canines. How could we refuse..... A selection of warm coats and raincoats was sent along with our very best wishes.
If you have the time to go to www.thamesreach.org to see their work and maybe a little donation to help the ongoing work.
Trover ® helps to wrap up New Orleans’ destruction
Alderney based Trover® Enterprises, inventors of the TroverÒ Coat and TroverÒ Wonder Beds continue their support to The Humane Society of Louisiana after a Tornado hit the region in January, causing serious damage to their animal shelter.
In response to the fact that hundreds of dogs ‘in rescue’ following Hurricane Katrina are once again left traumatised with their temporary home swept into ruins, Trover Coats has dispatched a fleet of Trover® Wonder Beds, courtesy of DHL to offer some help in the aftermath of this latest disaster.
When Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana in 2005, leaving hundreds of animals injured and homeless, Trover® were quick to respond and offer their invaluable support, earning them their “Hurricane Partnership Award’.
Working with The Humane Society of Louisiana, Trover® provided comfort to rescued dogs by sending over their specially designed “Katrina” coats which proved a whirlwind success.
Jeff Dorson, Executive Director of the Humane Society of Louisiana commented: “ Trover® helped us at a time when we needed it most. We don’t have the facility to keep all our rescued dogs inside, so within a fortnight of hearing that the dogs needed winter coats, several large boxes containing expertly made heavy fleece dog coats arrived from Fraggle Rock. Windy Corner, Alderney. They were an invaluable contribution to our cause and helped many traumatized larger dogs that are the most difficult to re-home.”
With a firm relationship quickly established between Trover® Coats and The Humane Society, Trover Coats reacted quickly to this recent disaster.
Collaborating with DHL for a second time, Trover® has dispatched a fleet of its new Trover® Wonder Bedsä to Tylertown, Louisiana, where the tornado destroyed outdoor kennels, dog play areas and one small portable building, with thousands of US dollars worth of supplies and premium pet food being completely ruined.
Whilst at Crufts 2007 Jane heard about a very special rescued Greyhound, Heather who lives in Devon with her owner. She was a racing greyhound whose cruel owner had no more need of her, so injected her with strong drugs, cut off her ears (as they contained tattoos which would identify him ) and left her in a field in Ireland to die. She was found in a ditch, bleeding profusely and trying to struggle home.
She was rescued and nursed for many months but because she has no ear lobes she needed protection and Trover Enterprises Ltd. supplied one of their fluorescent ruffs which absolutely solved the problem.
